Frugal Fridays Issue 1

Welcome to Frugal Fridays! Where I go over good deals I've spotted going on throughout the week!
First up is Fry's Food & Drug stores!
Fry's recently started doing Digital Deals; digital coupon sales that can be used up to 5x in one transaction. These sales typical last Friday - Sunday but this isn't always consistent and not every store is the same, so please check your local weekly ad before hopping in your car.
I'll be stocking up this weekend and tossing a few packages in the freezer for later as these typically go for $4.49 each at regular price. If you want a good tip on how to rack up some extra fuel points while you're saving some cash at Fry's start at the register before you shop. Purchase a qualifying Visa gift card that  you can use on the groceries you're about to buy and you'll earn 4x the fuel point spent on that card purchase PLUS the fuel points you earn from the groceries. It requires two transactions through the line but when you're filling your tank up for 20-30 cents less you won't mind that added step.
Sprouts is also having a 72 Hour Sale this weekend with an awesome deal on containers of blackberries, blueberries, and grape tomatoes for only 98 ea.

There's some nice chunk of change saving coupons if you recieve emails from Michaels and Big Lots today too! If you don't I highly suggest getting on their mailing list. Those 50% coupons are nice for those big art projects you might have coming up!

freesamplesbymail.com sends out almost daily emails with links to free products. I've tried it for about a year now and the good news is they do deliver, HOWEVER, you have to act fast and rush to sign up as soon as they release the email because they run out of supplies quick! I've gotten everything from free dog food and tea samples, to full bottles of shampoo and face wash!

Closures:
If you pay attention to the news on local business that are shutting their doors this year you know that Payless Shoes, Gymboree, and Victoria Secret are on the chopping block! Hit up your local store to take advantage of those low clearance prices before doors close forever! Piece of advice if you can drop a couple of bucks now buy some outifts a few sizes up for the kids and store them away. It's money saved later that will come in handy when your kid suddenly sprouts three inches overnight and needs all new jeans! Speaking as someone who has been an employee of such a major bankruptcy (R.I.P. Borders) please be kind and empathetic to the employees left at these stores. They're already stressed enough and chances are the store is a complete wreck; they don't need your nasty attitude issues to top it off.

Things to do!
Go check out some animals while the weather is still nice!

Out of Africa, I just found out, gives you free admission during the month of your birthday! This is especially helpful when 2/5 of our household members are March babies!

World Wildlife Zoo: B1G1 coupon for admission can be found in Farm Fresh egg cartons from Hickman's found at most Circle K and CVS stores!

St. Patrick's Day Events:
There are several St. patty's Day parades and events going on throughout the valley and most of them are free! (you may have to pay for parking though)
The Hot Sheet Blog is great on keeping you up to date on these types of fun events going on around our valley, go check them out at the following link and get your green on!
